As a long time blogger, I’ve written hundreds of blog posts on many different subjects, but not one of them has elicited as much interest than my pictures of food that I post to Facebook.
This crazy phenomenon has led to many conclusions. I’ve considered…
- Blogging is dead
- I’m a lousy writer
- I’m interested in stupid stuff
Then I considered it from the other side. Maybe…
- People are hungry
- Brightly colored food is interesting
- People are on a diet and long for a real meal
I’m not sure what the real reason is, but I thought I would re-post some of my best food pictures here as a possible way of gaining readership and eliciting comments.
One of my favorite places in the world is the little town of Cambria, on the Central Coast of California. The Olallieberry Inn serves up an amazing breakfast that starts out with a welcoming plate just like this. In fact the experience here led to my book, Finding Tor.
I’ve gone to the Mongolian BBQ in Claremont for over 30 years. The amazing stir fry still lives up to its reputation.
I first discovered a Habit Burger in Santa Barbara about 15 years ago. Since then, the chain has expanded all over California, and now has numerous locations.
My wife and I just discovered this little gem in Oceanside, CA. It’s a newly remodeled 1929 Cafe with period furniture and decor and some of the best Chicken Fried Steak on the Planet.
While on vacation, we wanted to try out a Living Social Deal on our phone. After a few connection hiccups, this is the result. One of the best Pastrami Sandwiches is long gone at The Nugget Bar and Grill in Goleta, CA.
Overall: My wife and I usually like to have at least one good meal out a week, and for some reason I usually take pictures of it and post it to my Facebook Page. How about you… do you have any pictures of your best meals?
