Since the beginning of the year I’ve been working on some new projects, including a new eBook and a new blog site. Today, I’d like to announce that my new eBook, Get A Life, is available in the Kindle Store. This book comes out of years of frustrating experience trying to get a handle on my desk, my life, and my time.
It’s a story of a desk, piled high with clutter, that finally gets the best of me. One of the taller stacks falls to the floor, and just about brings me to tears. The agony and the frustration of the moment are what finally helps me find a solution. And the answer was right in front of my face all the time.
This eBook is a quick read and can help you get your desk under control, and be able to plan out your week, prioritize your day, and manage your time in a way that allows you to stay focused and on task. The book incorporates many of the ideas and techniques we have talked about here over the years. Now these tenets are available in one place, in a short and easy to read volume that can help you go from disorganization to elation in less than two hours.
To help get the word out, I’ve priced the new book for free through Saturday. (That promotion is over, but it’s still only $2.99. Thanks to the many of you who took advantage and left reviews!) I would appreciate it if you would tell your friends about it, and leave a review on Amazon.
The other big news, is that Fire Up Today is moving to a new host, and taking on a new name. As of Monday, this blog will be called Fire Up Today and will be hosted on much faster servers with data locations around the world.
We have chosen a new wider look with a StudioPress template called Eleven40, that offers three columns, is mobile responsive, and rocks a lot of new functionality. I’m really excited about the new design and some exciting new features including a podcast and videocast coming later in the year.
The last thing I’d like to mention is a new outlook. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had to do a lot of soul searching. I’ve had to take a backseat and ask some tough questions. The resistance came at me hard and fast. There were so many days when the task of change and trying to finally ship almost stopped me dead.
I was frustrated at times with the complexity of the task and the overwhelming number of options I had to choose from. There is nothing that stops a creative faster than lots of bright shiny objects. Book covers, titles, and taglines were tough, but trying to decide on a blog template almost drove me nuts.
Finally I had to do what always works for me. I turned off all distractions, and set a timer for 48 minutes. I then had to make some decisions and stick with them. I asked myself… What would my audience want?
The answers to that question are what you see above. I’ve tried to organize both the book and the blog into an easy to follow system. Keep it simple and relevant. Time will tell if it works, but I would love your feedback.
Please let me know what you think… both the good and the bad.
I want to thank so many of you for sticking with me over the last eight years.
From a simple single column blog, to a new wide and expansive look. I feel like we are just getting started. I have some exciting new content just waiting to hit paper that I want to share with you. To help you get more done, in less time, with a smile on your face.
As of Monday, this blog address will resolve to the new one.
The address is… https://fireuptoday.com
and the RSS feed is https://fireuptoday.com/feed
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to pick up the book and leave a review. I’ll see you on the other side!
