The New iPad: A Graphics Powerhouse

As the new iPad was announced earlier this week, I was watching the live blogs about the new features it would include. The pundits and rumor blogs were pretty accurate this time.

The new iPad 3 features…

  • Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 Resolution (WOW!)
  • A5X Processor with Quad Core Graphics
  • iSight5 Megapixel Rear Facing Camera for 1080P Video with Stabilization
  • Camera has Advanced Graphics, F2.4 Aperture, Five Element Lens
  • 10 Hour Battery Life
  • 4G LTE Wireless Network Available on Multiple Carriers
  • Built in Dictation

While these features make for an incredible product, the addition of iPhoto for the iPad and an upgraded iMovie, will make this a machine that photographers and video enthusiasts will love.

Here are some cool things you can do with the new programs…

iPhoto:

  • Smart Browser Helps You Find The Right Photo in Just Seconds
  • Multi Touch Editing: Just Tap and Drag for Incredible Editing Effects
  • Profession Quality Visual Effects
  • Brushes Offer Fine Tuning and Spot Repair Of Your Photos
  • Create Amazing Photo Journals
  • Share Your Photos Easily on Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter
  • Photo Beaming from iPhone to iPad. Instant Transfer of Photos
  • Only $4.99 for the iPad

iMovie:

  • Hollywood Style Trailers (Really Cool!)
  • Movies in Minutes With Drag and Tap Editing
  • Share on YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo.
  • Share on Your Big Screen TV with AirPlay and an Apple TV.
  • Only $4.99 for the iPad

Overall: I think the third version of the iPad will really open up it’s use for photo enthusiasts and videographers. With this incredible Hi-res screen and wireless transfer, the sky is the limit.

Question: Will you be buying the new iPad? If so, what will you use it for?
